D-BAT Tulsa
D-BAT Tulsa: Lessons
At D-BAT Tulsa, lessons are taught with the ballplayer as the focus while involving the parents during the lesson. We have great instructors who can instruct players at every level for improvement. However, our instructors can not be at the ballplayer's games, so they rely on the parents for feedback on how the player is doing in game situations.
We are proud to have CJ Medlin, Mark Roberts, Michael Walker, Krystel
Markwardt, Tim Burton, and Matt Frazier as part of the D-BAT family.
CJ MEDLIN
CJ Medlin, a former Owasso Ram, was a standout athlete at Seminole
where he was a 1st Team All-American Catcher, hitting .400 with 25
Home Runs and 86 RBI’s. After his time at Seminole, CJ signed with the
University of Alabama before being drafted by the Chicago Cubs. He
played more than 6 seasons of professional baseball for the Chicago Cubs
and the Milwaukee Brewers, including AAA ball. CJ has been taught by
experienced instructors, such as major leaguer Ivan Rodriguez, and uses
this experience in his own instructions today. CJ brings experience in
hitting, catching, and pitching instruction and comes highly recommended
by colleges and scouts. He is also a certified strength and conditioning
trainer.
MARK ROBERTS
Mark Roberts made a name for himself early on as a two time Oklahoma
6A state champion at Owasso High School and had a career wins record
of 41-3. He went on to the University of Oklahoma to leave his mark as a
four-year starter who would become the Career Wins and Career Strikeout
record holder. Mark was an 8th round pick of the 2004 MLB amateur draft
by the Texas Rangers. He had the opportunity to play for Team USA in
the 1998 IBF World Baseball Championships where he earned a gold
medal. After his retirement from professional baseball Mark continued his
devotion to the game of baseball by coaching youth and amateur baseball.
Mark brings this experience to D-BAT of Tulsa as a pitching and hitting
instructor.
MICHAEL WALKER
Michael Walker was a four-year starter at Berryhill High School where
he was a pitcher and infielder. His accomplishments and dedication
to the sport earned him an invitation to join the team at Murray State
Junior College. Unfortunately, a career-ending injury prevented him from
pursuing his dream. Undeterred, Michael followed his love of the game
in a new direction- coaching and instruction. He has been training kids
for more than six years and has coached at the high school level for three
years. His success is demonstrated in assisting the high school team in
a two-year 68-11 record. Michael has coached multiple All-state baseball
players and comes to D-BAT of Tulsa highly recommended by scouts,
coaches at all levels, and parents alike.
